Support Worker Medically Fragile Children Jobs in New Zealand

A vibrant and articulate 23 yr old woman whose Superpower is Down Syndrome is on the lookout for an organized and inspiring mentor to guide her as she embarks on her journey to independence. With a passion for dancing and a love for socializing, she dreams of reaching her full potential, but she needs your expertise!



As her mentor and life coach, you will play a crucial role in helping her navigate the complexities of daily living. Your initiative and foresight will be invaluable in planning her week, making appointments, and tackling life’s little hiccups—like what to do when there’s a leak or no hot water. Together, you'll create fun and nutritious meal plans, organize shopping lists, and ensure she’s prepared for whatever life throws her way!



Currently living with her supportive mum and dad, she aspires to gain the skills needed to eventually go flatting in beautiful Orewa. The role has potential to become a live-in full-time position eventually. Alongside life management, she’s also eager to land a job. If you can assist with interview practice and help her get ready for work, you’ll be providing her with the confidence she needs to shine in her professional pursuits.



We’re seeking someone with a great sense of humour who can also set clear boundaries and offer practical advice. Your common sense and ability to explain when it’s a good idea to take a risk—or when to play it safe—will be essential in her growth.



The role is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Silverdale, and you’ll need a car to get there and a full driving licence for the role. Hours are flexible, ranging from 18 to 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday. We’re looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
