About the role and who we are looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Bar Supervisor to lead our team at our RNZAF - Ohakea site. It is a Permanent Full-Time position, rostered across Monday to Sunday, weekends shifts will be required.

RNZAF Ohakea is located within the Manawatu district, 26 km west of Palmerston North and 48km from Whanganui and 24 km from Marton and Feilding. With some of the best fly fishing, hunting, great walks, skiing and mountain bike trails in the country within easy reach of your doorstep it's an outdoor enthusiast's dream. This busy diverse Airforce Base is the Hub of the air wing in New Zealand and offers a unique chance and insight into the military world of Officer and senior/junior ranks training.

Come work in one of NZ's top outdoor regions Manawatu / Ruapehu - Home to Tongariro National Park and Whanganui National Park and two New Zealand Great Walks, Fishing beaches, there's plenty to see and do in in this area all year-round.

What would you be expected to do:

  • ensuring our bar services are delivered in accordance with client and legal requirements,
  • ensure continuous quality improvement in all areas of service delivery exceeding client expectations
  • supervise the day-to-day operations of the site,
  • develop and train your team and create a positive team environment
  • in charge of operating bar stock, management systems
  • duty manager for all bars
  • being both customer focused and team focused.


If you're our ideal candidate, you will:

If you're our ideal candidate you will have at least 2 years' experience working in a similar supervisory role, be articulate and highly organised, and able to juggle multiple demands. You will hold a current Duty Managers Certificate, hold a qualification in hospitality and have administrative experience.

You will possess an excellent leadership ability, but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great customer service and quality!

A full driver's license is required for this role and you must be able to pass full security clearance as per NZ Defence.
