We are currently seeking a Transport Assessor (Occupational Therapist) to join our growing team at OTRS – a division of Geneva Healthcare.
This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to work with clients across Aotearoa to support safe and independent mobility through expert transport assessments.

Our OTRS team supplies occupational therapy, specifically transport assessment services, to private individuals and organisations throughout New Zealand, including ACC, Ministry of Health, and the Lottery Board.
About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga
As a Transport Assessor, you will deliver occupational therapy assessments and transport-focused interventions to a diverse caseload of clients. You will plan and manage your own appointments, apply best-practice approaches, and play a key role in ensuring clients can travel safely and confidently.
This specialist role is a great fit for an Occupational Therapist seeking to apply their clinical knowledge in a focused, meaningful way. You’ll be responsible for assessing the impact of physical or cognitive conditions on a person’s ability to drive and, when needed, manage the full process of recommending vehicle modifications.
You will work across a variety of clinical presentations – including spinal cord injuries, orthopaedic injuries, neurological conditions (e.g. dementia), and trauma. You’ll collaborate with driving instructors, vehicle modifiers, and dealers to deliver safe and effective solutions.
The role can be based in either Hamilton or Wellington, community-based & offers nationwide service delivery. You will have the support of a skilled and collaborative team, with strong operational systems in place to help you succeed.

What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga
- NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current APC (no conditions)
- Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience
- Clinical backgrounds in wheelchair/seating, housing, neurology, or spinal cord injury are highly transferrable
- Experience with ACC contracts is beneficial but not essential
- Full NZ driver’s licence held for at least two years
- Strong communication, documentation, and organisational skills
- Confidence in managing a varied caseload independently
- A sound understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equitable, culturally safe practice
