About Us
At Hutt City Council our vision is to build a connected, resilient and inclusive city where all of our people thrive - Kia noho mai tēnei tāone hei pou herenga waka, hei pou herenga kaupapa, hei wāhi whai hua ki hōna iwi.

Our council has set out a bold and ambitious plan for us to achieve. We are facing some new and exciting challenges and this offers our staff unique opportunities to create innovative positive changes with our communities.

We are reshaping our organisation to enable increased responsiveness to the needs and expectations of our communities, to be flexible in our approach, to meet future demands, to grow our capability, and to create an inclusive and progressive work environment for our staff.

What we Offer

  • Competitive remuneration;
  • Four weeks annual leave;
  • Investment in staff wellness with an additional day off every quarter, and wellness payment of up to $300 per annum;
  • Additional long service leave after qualifying periods
  • Hybrid working options with the ability to work from home on up to two days a week (subject to organisational requirements).

About the role
Our Parks Project Team, of which the Parks Project Coordinator is a key member, is tasked with researching, developing, and delivering high-quality, customer-focused outcomes across the Parks and Property portfolio. Good-quality public open-space is a real game-changer in delivering optimal outcomes for the community as access to private green-space decreases with housing intensification and urbanisation.

We are seeking an experienced Project Co-ordinator to support the wider team in ensuring it continues to deliver value driven solutions to public green-space. This includes ensuring projects are delivered on-time, to specification within cost, and quality parameters. The role will also assist with project planning, consultation, concept development, and resource forecasting.

If you are someone who wishes to develop skills over a wide portfolio of works and at the same time deliver real improvements to the lives and experiences of the community, this could be the role for you.

About You
Our ideal candidate is a go getter, with the ability to work across a range of projects, with a focus on the finer details. You will have strong experience in the following:

  • Working as a Project Co-ordinator
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Maintaining project finances
  • Producing presentations and status reports
