We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Full-time Cleaning Assistant to work at our Edenvale Resthome Residential Care site Mt Eden.

Hours of work are 5 hours/day Monday to Saturday .

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

In this position you will be responsible for;

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in internal areas of the facility, this will include cleaning all bathrooms and toilets, rooms and offices, vacuuming and polishing floors, and emptying rubbish, including the dementia ward.
  • Maintaining and storing cleaning equipment and chemicals, and any other general cleaning duties in a safe manner including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Managing cleaning duties in a timely manner and adhering to Occupational Health & Safety at all times.
  • Follow standard operating procedures applicable to all areas of the role.

If you're our successful candidate;

  • You will have high standards in personal presentation, highly empathetic and compassionate as well as a have a friendly, helpful, outgoing personality with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Have an interest in supporting others and providing exceptional levels of service and have a natural affinity with people in an aged care facility.
  • You will demonstrate good working knowledge of commercial cleaning and infection control procedures and be flexible to work under short notice.
  • Ideally you will have previous cleaning experience in an aged care environment.
  • Most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for customer service and quality.
