The Product/Service Owner is the owner/operator running a ‘business’ that is responsible for delivering a service on a day-to-day and sprint-to-sprint basis. They work closely with internal customers to understand their needs, and defines the service vision, roadmap, and backlog, utilising prioritisation framework(s) for effective trade-off decisions.

They are responsible for defining stories and prioritising the team backlog to streamline the execution of QPP planning requirements. The Product/Service Owner will work alongside nengineering teams to tell a story and focus on the journey, they will be working closely with the head of digital engineering.

There are opportunities for multiple product owners, they will look after individual initiatives like cards and capabilities, platform adoption, finacle DEH (digital engagement hub) or BS11 compliance

  • Experience with working on platforms as a product
  • Experience with SDLC / ITIL / Service Management
  • An understanding of banking/finance industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and best practices, from concept and planning through to delivery and ongoing support.
  • Experience with leading development teams and delivering products within complex environments.
  • Experience with managing scope and prioritisation, making data-based decisions and negotiating dependencies with other teams across the organisation.
  • Experience with iterative and continuous delivery methods and proficiency with visualising and presenting things like roadmaps.
  • The ability to collaborate and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders, suppliers, and business partners.
  • The ability to record, monitor and manage an Agile team’s costs and budgets.
