About Us
Te Arawa Lakes Trust (TALT) is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Te Arawa Lakes, upholding our 100-year legacy, and supporting the prosperity of the wider Te Arawa community. We are seeking a highly organised and professional Executive Assistant (EA) to provide essential support to our General Manager (GM) and Board of Trustees.

About the Role
As the Executive Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the executive office and Board of Trustees. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, discretion, and cultural sensitivity to uphold and support the values of Te Arawa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level executive, board secretarial and administrative support to the General Manager and Board of Trustees.
  • Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and handle correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and board documents with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Take board minutes and ensure governance compliance.
  • Maintain confidential records and manage electronic filing systems.
  • Assist in implementing strategic objectives and supporting key organisational initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with iwi, hapū, employees, and external stakeholders.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or Board Secretary in a corporate, non-profit, or fast-paced environment.
  • High proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and familiarity with SharePoint, Xero, and project management tools like Monday.com.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of board governance, including experience with minute-taking and board document preparation.
  • A commitment to Te Reo Māori and incorporating Te Arawa values into daily work.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable approach to problem-solving.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Te Reo Māori or a strong desire to build competence in the language.
