About Automotive Employment NZ
Automotive Employment is New Zealand's specialist motor industry recruitment company for both the light automotive and heavy diesel sectors. We place quality permanent staff at all levels and categories in the motor industry both nationally and globally.

Associated companies alongside Automotive Employment include Jobcorp NZ and Jobcorp Immigration.

We are proud of the team environment we have developed and the reputation we have forged with our clients, candidates, and the wider recruitment community. We are the holders of New Zealand's largest compliant database of motor industry staff paired with the latest recruitment tech solutions.

The role
360-degree recruitment, meaning you will be involved in all aspects of recruitment. The role is remote working with occasional hybrid days.

Duties include:

  • Contingent recruitment assignments - advertising, sourcing talent both nationally and internationally, matching, vetting, and placement
  • Structured key appointment recruitment
  • Development of national and international job listings
  • Client engagement - develop relationships that deliver lasting results
  • Interviewing and the development of this skill
  • Strategic team contributions
  • Social media marketing across multiple platforms
  • Candidate engagement and relationship management
  • Achievement of budgeted targets
  • Relocations/immigration activity alongside Licensed Immigration Advisers
  • Managing a portfolio of clients including personal visitations

The person we are seeking
Our team is known for its bright, vibrant energy. We are of course looking for someone to join us who is also bright, energetic, and vibrant. Remember also the word decency; being capable of continuously making the right ethical decisions is essential in our company.

High standards of communication skills both verbally and written are essential, so too are the traits of warmth, kindness, and efficiency.

Your background

  • A motor industry or recruitment background is essential
  • This is not an entry level role. You will need strong contacts and the respect of industry in your sector
  • Strong reasoning abilities are essential
  • You will have progressed in your field and be seeking a long-term career
  • In-depth knowledge of aftersales, sales leadership, recruitment, or provision of services to the motor industry will all be considered

You will need the ability to work with focus and, at times, intensity. Combined relationship building skills and efficiency are core hiring criteria.

While the role provides a 5-day Monday to Friday working week, in practice there is some after-hours work to achieve solid results in the role.

Rewards
High income: remuneration is targeted at providing a six-figure income. A base salary plus commissions is designed to provide stable and attractive earnings, usually in the circa of $120,000 to $170,000. The role will take commitment, personal drive, as well as sound reasoning and decision-making abilities.

5 day working week: We do not work weekends, nor do we work on any public holidays.

Wellness is front and centre of our culture. Benefits include:

  • 1 wellness day off every two months
  • One day off per month to enjoy with your team
  • 6 early days off per annum
  • 'Work from anywhere' weeks
  • We support work-related study
  • Birthday day off
  • Community days
  • Paid days off to attend children's sports events
  • As an incentive, up to 3 days paid to attend your children's school camp
  • Paid time off to attend family medical appointments
  • Paid time off to care for a family member subject to policy
  • Paid time off to attend your parent and teaching meetings
  • Paid time off to drop off and pick up your children from school/aftercare
  • Additional benefits will be discussed at interview stage
