This is a unique and career defining opportunity.

As the Inshore Export & Domestic Sales Manager you will be instrumental in driving strategic sales to deliver revenue growth. You will be stepping into the business during a period of transformational change.

You will focus on achieving business objectives through leading the domestic and export sales teams, optimizing sales growth, improving performance, and enhancing productivity. Your leadership will guide your team towards achieving business goals, driving team engagement and supporting the growth and development of new and existing customers and markets, particularly export.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide leadership excellence to sales and export teams through setting clear strategic direction, fostering a high performing and engaged culture, where individuals and teams can thrive, develop and grow.
• Formulate, develop and implement sales strategy plans to grow customer and market base
• Develop and execute annual budgeting, forecasting and sales planning processes in collaboration with senior leaders
• Expand Moana’s market presence on an international basis, fostering strong key relationships, brand presence and customers across existing and emerging markets
• Develop strong collaborative relationships with senior managers to achieve sales objectives
• Deliver performance reporting on sales, pipelines, client profitability & opportunities
• Contribute to the annual business plan and implement actions to exceed sales and profitability targets.
• Provide market insights to help strategize and enhance promotional and marketing efforts
• Engage actively in industry awareness and networking to maintain and enhance Moana’s market position

Fisheries is a dynamic industry, where no day is the same so be prepared to be on the go, juggling multiple priorities and collaborating with a wide variety of people. No job will be too small or big and you will be comfortable working with ambiguity, and nimble to last minute changes and redirection.

A strategic thinker, you will be an experienced, savvy, senior sales leader with a comprehensive track record of sales achievement, and of pivoting how an organisation addresses their customers and marketplace.


  • Extensive senior sales experience including leadership, people management & development, and strategic planning and export sales
  • You will need a background ideally in seafood and/or FMCG and/or fresh foods industries, with proven domestic and international sales experience, developing new business
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience driving & leading a sales team to meet targets
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven success in a managerial role with a strong background in sales and key account management.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • You take an inclusive, positive, tailored approach, with strong presentation and interpersonal skills. You are engaging, focused and practical.
  • Commercially astute, with strong analytical and decision-making abilities and a focus on financial planning and achieving sales targets.
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams, ensuring accountability and high performance.
  • Have affinity and credibility within the building product sectors, including high level negotiation experience
