Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team in Christchurch, New Zealand. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience for our patients during their dental visits.

This role is a fixed term position to cover maternity leave

  • Provide chairside assistance to dentists during various dental procedures.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict hygiene protocols.
  • Greet and assist patients, ensuring they feel welcomed and at ease throughout their appointments.
  • Manage dental records and update patient information accurately in the dental software system.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.


The hours for this role are

  • Tuesday: 8.00am - 3.00pm
  • Wednesday: 8.00am - 5.00pm
  • Thursday: 8.00am - 1.00pm or 6.00pm (depending on your availability and hours you require)


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dental procedures and terminology (on-the-job training will be provided).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities to maintain a well-organized work environment.
  • Proficiency in dental software and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with the dental staff.
  • Empathy and patience when dealing with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies as required.
