Are you a marketing contractor looking for a juicy 20-hour per week gig? Join the Black Jacket team!

One of our team members is heading off on maternity leave so we're on the hunt for a bright, passionate and flexible marketing all-rounder to join our team. This is a role for a contractor and whilst we need you for 20-hours per week, most of that time can flex to suit your schedule. The one exception to this is that we'll need you to available to work a set 5-hour slot for one client on a Tuesday. You will ideally be based in Auckland as this client is in this are and would appreciate a face-to-face on occasion (they are based in the Flat Bush area).

Pay for this role is up to $65 per hour for the right experience. The contract will be guaranteed for 3-months with a real opportunity to extend when our team member returns and reactivates some of our portfolio.

Here's the type of person we're looking for:

  • At least 3 years' marketing experience. This can either be contracting, freelancing or in an employed role. It's important that you do have experience as you'll have to hit the ground running with important clients.
  • A marketing generalist who has a passion for creative copywriting - SEO expertise would be a HUGE bonus! A lot of this role is supporting our clients with content creation for blogs, newsletters, some social media. On top of this, SEO is a large part of our business so whilst you don't need to be a pro already, any experience in copywriting for SEO would be excellent.
  • You must be a self-starter, unafraid to ask questions and be able to know your limits with skills. You'll be supported by our designer and operations lead, SEO and copy lead and social media executive, so you won't be alone. The right person will ask for expert help with they need it to ensure we are efficient and deliver on our client promises.
  • Polite, professional, concise and analytical. We are a marketing agency dedicated to making the lives of small businesses easier. You will be directly liaising with business owners and CEO's where every minute is money. You need to be a great communicator with what we're working on, delivering and blockers to ensure the client feels extremely well supported.
