Bargain Chemist burst into Kiwi communities in 2018 and since then we have become a favourite destination for all healthcare needs. We have been offering free prescriptions on all government-funded medication since our inception and will continue to do so for all our patients at each new store, thus consistently helping Kiwis to save money.

We are looking for a full-time Retail Manager at our New Plymouth Store!

Job Summary:

As a Retail Manager, you will oversee store retail operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and achieve sales targets. You will lead and manage retail staff, handle inventory and budgeting, and implement strategies to enhance store performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees overall store retail operations and performance.
  • Develops and implements business strategies to achieve targets and KPI’s.
  • Manages budgets, payroll, and inventory levels.
  • Responsible for hiring, rostering, training and developing staff.
  • Reports directly to the Regional Manager.


Who You Are:

  • An experienced supervisor or manager with at least 2 years' experience in retail environment.
  • An effective leader with strong team management skills.
  • A communicator with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in retail management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.


Working Conditions:

Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support the store operations.
