He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are currently on the lookout for experienced and enthusiastic Chefs to join us at one of our 130+ sites within the Wellington Region. This position is full-time with a total of 40 hours per week.

Our Chefs are at the very heart of what we do. Hundreds of thousands of people around New Zealand rely on us every day to provide their breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Compass Group is an accredited employer for the new AEWV so we surely can assist with obtaining a AEWV (Accredited Employer Work Visa). Therefore, we welcome International Candidates.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and serving quality meals for our customers.
  • You will need to be able to cook within budget.
  • Assist with ordering and menu development as well as ensure the health and wellbeing of our customers through allergen and nutrition management.
  • You will also be catering for functions as required, and assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.


He kōrero mōu / About you:

If you're our perfect candidate, you will:

  • At least 2 - 5 year experience as a Chef;
  • NZQA Level 4 Cookery or equivalent would be an advantage.
  • Be hard working, reliable, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Have excellent understanding of all hygiene, health and food safety practices in a food environment
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Preferably hold food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 & 168)
  • Have the ability to work independently and confidently, but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
