We require an experienced auto electrician for this Hamilton based workshop.

Preference will be given to applicants with significant experience removing and reinstalling dashboards in a range of motor vehicles, particularly late model and European cars.

About the company
The Hamilton workshop is part of four workshops with common ownership providing sharing of ideas and support including the exchange of technical staff based on their specific expertise. They use the latest diagnostic techniques to find leaks in customer vehicles to provide a professional and long-lasting repair, including auto-electrical faults affecting the AC.

The company works on a wide range of vehicles, from family cars to the latest electric and high-end European cars. The employer is the specialist that many franchise dealers turn to when an AC problem presents too much of a headache.

Training and ongoing support will be provided while you develop or hone your diagnostic and repair skills. Such support will include phone support from the business owners as well as their regular site visits to the premises.

This also includes regular interaction with the other branches. There is an extremely experienced auto electrician with 16 years of auto-AC experience at the end of the phone as well. There is access to current and past business owners who possess a wealth of knowledge.

As well as repairs, the business may be involved in AC installations for classic cars, hot rods, and American muscle cars, for instance. While most of that actual work will be performed at the Hamilton branch, branches in Auckland are heavily involved in the planning stages, in association with the business owner.

The current owners have nearly of 30 years' experience owning and operating an automotive air-conditioning business. Managers within the wider organisation describe the owners as great to work for, open to suggestions, supportive and inclusive, and staff are involved in the development and implementation of the organisation's wider goals.

The role
It is important to note this is a summer-seasonal business but they are committed to your long-term employment and development. From October to March, you can expect 10 -12 hour days as well as rostered Saturdays. Just for this time of year applicants should be freely available to work these hours without conflicting responsibilities. It is imperative all staff pull together as a team to run a profitable operation while there is customer demand.

The role is full-time with a guarantee of 40 hours per week. The branches are closed on Saturdays during the off season.

Remuneration may be commensurate with the successful applicant's expertise, within a range of $30 to $45 per hour.
