Are you an experienced Development Manager looking for an opportunity to make a tangible impact in the residential and social housing sector? Madison Recruitment is partnering with Urban Plus Ltd (UPL) to find a driven and skilled professional to join their team in Lower Hutt.

About the Role

As a Development Manager at UPL, you’ll oversee residential and social housing projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve feasibility assessments, project planning, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This is an opportunity to be hands-on with projects that make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead property development projects from feasibility through to delivery.
  • Contribute to UPL’s strategic and business planning.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Procure and implement core infrastructure while ensuring compliance with NZ regulations.
  • Oversee Health & Safety within the development function.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including local councils, contractors, and Community Housing Providers.


What We’re Looking For:

  • A background in property development, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in residential construction project management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the NZ property market, the Health & Safety at Work Act, and the Resource Management Act.
  • HomeStar 6 Practitioner certification is a bonus but not essential.
