Job Description

Orchard Supervisor

PURPOSE
 To oversee and facilitate the daily operations of the shift to ensure that each shift runs smoothly and in accordance with the requirements of the business.

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 Set tasks for staff as per workload or priority list.
 Conduct inductions, risk assessments and training records.
 Ensure the operation complies with relevant government legislation, policies and procedures, as well as Health & Safety regulations.
 Attract, develop and train workforce, as well as assist with staff recruitment, rosters, coaching, and evaluating work performance.
 Develop strategies to drive continuous improvement, increasing the team productivity and business growth.
 Record Keeping (Staff contact, communication, time sheets, and work details).
 Deliver documents such as timesheets contracts and others, to the office or other drop off points directed by Garcia Contracting, within the defined deadlines according to Garcia’s Policies and procedures.
 Maintain an organised paperwork routine: Fill up required paper/digital reports of daily work plans and deploy this data into our digital system as per our instructions.
 Assist and support the company marketing strategies by ensuring our communications are reaching your team and clients effectively.
 Occasionally, on large operations, you may need to work as part of team (not leading a team).
 In those occasions, you will be required to carry out orchard work duties, such as Pruning, thinning, among others.
 You may be required to work alone, by yourself. When this happens, you are expected to maintain your usual professionalism and integrity. This includes not using the phone for personal use other than work and emergency. Also making sure there will be no time wasting on elongated breaks, among others.
 These duties may be modified by the Employer from time to time. The Employee also agrees to perform all other reasonable duties and comply with reasonable instructions issued by the employer.
 Over the picking season you may be required to support our operation in other tasks, such as machinery operations. We count on your flexibility and capability of performing tasks such as driving tractors, forklifts, Ute, etc.; Training can be provided.
