Tradestaff are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter to grow our existing team in Taupo. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair tasks on a large project for equipment, systems, and machinery.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical faults to ensure efficient and safe operation.
Perform work on pumps, valves, motors, generators, turbines, and other plant machinery.
Work at heights, including scaffolding, ladders, and aerial work platforms, as required.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Assist with planned maintenance, emergency repairs, and shutdowns.
Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues to the supervisor.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a fitter or in a similar mechanical maintenance role, ideally within the power generation or industrial sector.
Proven ability to work at heights safely and effectively.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working with a variety of industrial machinery.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Ability to work in a team and independently, with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
Desirable:
Previous experience working on large sites.
Working at Heights will be preferred and Confined Space Qualifications desired.
