THE ROLE:

True are looking for a new Senior Designer. Here, design plays an integral role – it’s at the centre of everything we do, not off to the side. And with such an eclectic range of clients (check out our website), you’ll be working across everything. Small to large brand identities, digital, product, packaging, comms campaign work, you name it.

The Senior Designer we’re looking for needs a broad understanding of design principles and a confidence in delivering work across all aspects of design. You’ll bring your own style and thinking, looking beyond short-term trends and gimmicks. You’ll understand conventions and know when to break them.

At True, no one sits in a corner. You’ll be developing relationships with clients, presenting your own work, being involved with every part of the journey. So, excellent communication skills are a must to help clients (and agency colleagues) understand and buy into your thinking.

You will be given responsibility and independence on a wide range of exciting clients and projects, while receiving continued support and mentorship from the Creative Director. You’ll also work closely alongside the agency’s Creative Department, applying design thinking to amplify art direction across creative campaigns.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess strong design abilities and typography skills
  • Fluency in Adobe Suite and Figma
  • Confident in ensuring digital design work meets usability and web standards
  • Understands best practice in creating assets across social media platforms
  • Able to utilise social platforms for communications and design with confidence
  • Able to quickly gain fluency and understanding of brands and brand guidelines
  • Thinks creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
  • Capable of taking design direction and implementing brand developments with confidence
  • Keeps on top of emerging trends and technologies in new media, software and design
  • Actively identifying opportunities to push and challenge our clients’ work
  • Excellent communication skills – speaks about and presents design thinking effectively
  • Identifies design opportunities for our clients (beyond just responding to briefs)
  • A strong collaborative spirit
  • Basic motion design skills is a plus



REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience
  • A portfolio of previous digital design work to showcase experience and creativity
  • NZ residency / visa
  • Based in Auckland, New Zealand
