Ngā Kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role The PwC Transaction Services team (TS) is New Zealand’s leading provider of financial due diligence services. Transaction Services sits within PwC’s Deal practice and works closely with our Corporate Finance team.
This is a full-time role with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday.
Due to growth, we are now looking for an experienced individual to join our team in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland as Associate Director. The overall purpose of this role is to work with leaders, directors, managers and staff principally within the Deals team to advise and help clients on a wide variety of complex transactions and projects, working with small business through to high profile corporate clients and public sector entities.
Performing and reviewing financial analysis, including assessments of historical / forecast earnings, quality of earnings / pro forma adjustments, working capital trends, and net debt / debt-like items.
Preparing and reviewing written financial due diligence reports.
Proactively develop knowledge through appropriate research, keeping current with the firm's technical and industry guidance, training and interactions with internal PwC Specialists.
Identify and develop technical solutions to client/industry issues using pre-existing materials, such as methodologies or previous engagement.
Lead/own specific items on a client meeting agenda; and relationships with appropriate client stakeholders.
Apply knowledge of relevant generally accepted practices, regulatory and legislative standards, business processes or industry knowledge to role or engagement team.
Working in a team, sharing knowledge, and coaching other team members.

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your existing experience. We are looking for an experienced individual who can bring the following competencies and experience to the role:
Have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in an M&A / professional services role, including a minimum of 4 years’ financial due diligence experience.
Have completed a relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting/Commerce/Business/Finance, with further qualifications such as CA / CFA being desirable.
Bring an analytical and intuitive mind-set to any task put in front of you.
Possess strong written and numerical ability and proficiency in MS Suite. Experience with other data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) is also an advantage.
Have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with stakeholders both internal and external to the firm.
Demonstrate a passion for coaching and developing junior team members.
Have strong project management skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines.
Ideally have completed a relevant tertiary qualification Accounting/Commerce/Business/Finance, with further qualifications such as CA / CFA an advantage
