New Zealand Police is the lead agency responsible for preventing crime and enhancing community safety. It works in partnership with individuals, communities, businesses, and other public sector agencies towards the vision of making New Zealand the safest country. Police is the government’s largest front-line response agency with around 15,000 staff in large and small communities all over New Zealand and in liaison and policing development roles overseas.

This position reports to the HR Hub Team Leader. In MyPolice, the organisational structure drives all system workflows such as timesheet and leave approvals. Therefore, it is important that the structure shown in MyPolice reflects reality.

The objective of the Position Management Officer is to provide administrative support and act as a source of specialist information and advice around the processes and procedures for position management within the organisation. You as Position Management Officer must have an ability to work within the wider People Operations Group and our organisational team to enable the delivery of an accurate organisation structure.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and review transactions for accuracy and compliance to ensure data is accurate
  • A customer service excellence focus
  • Ability to produce accurate work, sometimes under pressure, and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Good numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation, including but not limited to the Holidays Act, the Employment Relations Act, the Wages Protection Act and the Privacy Act
  • Personal attributes and temperament relevant to the position

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $63,526 and $66,312 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
