The purpose of the Technical Implementation Lead role is to manage and implement new and enhanced models and decision strategies within core technology platforms improving outcomes for the bank and customers.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We sat down with our Head of Modelling & Decision Strategy, and they let us know the following about the tūranga (role).

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?

  • Lead the design of sustainable, flexible, strategic implementation solutions and test plans to support proactive, optimised decision outcomes.
  • Configure new and enhanced models and decision strategies within core technological platforms.
  • Analyse complex datasets to support business intelligence, reporting, optimisation and predictive analytics.
  • Work closely with external vendors to align solutions with project goals and ensure seamless integration.
  • Identify and manage interdependencies between initiatives and activities that cross Business and Technology Domains


What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?

The work is diverse with a wide range of stakeholders. It requires helping these groups work toward the same context, understand and goals.

What specific skills would be beneficial?

The role also requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to any audience.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this tūranga?

  • Significant experience in model and strategy implementations within core platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of code-based languages including; Structured Rule Language (SRL), Python and SAS.
  • Detailed understanding of JSON based data structures.
  • Strong analytical capability regarding decisioning strategy optimisation across lending decisioning, collections and account management
