The role:
As a result of business growth we're excited to offer an opportunity for a Charge Nurse to manage our PACU and it's team at Mercy Hospital in Epsom. Currently the PACU supports 7 theatres, BUT in mid-2025 the unit will transition into a spacious state of the art new 17 bay PACU, to support 10 new theatres in our brand new hospital wing. In this role you will report directly to Mercy's Theatre Manager and lead a dedicated team of RNs, including a Team Leader. You will be responsible for overseeing both the operational management and clinical leadership of the service, ensuring the highest standards of care and performance. This is a permanent 1.0 FTE role and whilst you'll work primarily Monday to Friday days, you may occasionally need to alter your days/hours to meet business needs.

Our clinical services include ICU & HDU.
About you. Our preferred candidate will have these skills, and experience:
- NZ Registered Nurse with a current APC
- Relevant clinical postgraduate qualification e.g. periop, or critical care
- A leadership qualification or the desire to complete one
- Previous experience leading and managing a PACU and its team
- Experience delivering clinical excellence - with a hands on approach
- A passion for coaching others, and driving professional development
- The ability to manage rapidly changing situations and be a proactive change manager
- Positive energy with the ability to collaborate and develop win/win relationships with our specialists and the wider multidisciplinary team
- You're self-reliant, an innovator, and a strong motivator/influencer
- Your technical skills are advanced (and hopefully include experience using TrendCare).
