Tradestaff is seeking a Data Technician for an exciting role based in Hamilton, with regular travel across the North Island. About the Role:As a Data Technician, you’ll play a key role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data systems at various sites across the North Island. This dynamic role offers plenty of variety, hands-on work, and the chance to develop your skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, and testing data and communication systems.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting network or equipment issues on-site.
  • Traveling to client sites across the North Island to provide technical support.
  • Conducting system maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
  • Working collaboratively with team members and clients to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of work completed.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in data cabling, networking, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with installation and maintenance of data systems (e.g., fiber optic, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and stay overnight as required.
  • A full NZ driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Relevant industry certifications (advantageous but not essential).
