Mō te tūnga | About the role

IDEA Services provides forensic rehabilitation services for people with high and complex needs who have committed an offence and had contact with the justice system. We work in partnership with people to make positive changes in their lives through learning new skills, having new experiences and developing supportive relationships with their whānau and community.

We are looking for a Support Worker to work as part of a team to support an individual with complex behavioural support needs. Part of what you do each day will be helping them to recognise and respond to emotional overwhelm and react safely to this. We are looking for someone physically active who has the resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.

Part of the role will involve managing risk and maintaining safety. Dealing with challenging behaviour can be tough, but with the right approach, we can make a difference, promote positive behaviours, and create a supportive environment for people to thrive.
