Job Description
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
As a Site Engineer for our Christchurch Transport & infrastructure Civl Construction crew, you will be focused on the delivery of Civil Construction projects (safety works, intersection upgrades, pavement rehabilitations, carparks, Utilities upgrades and the like). Assist Project Managers with day-to-day operations, ensuring ensure quality, health and safety and environmental standards are upheld.

Day to day responsibilities will include;

  • Monitoring and updating project programmes
  • Advising and leading onsite delivery teams
  • Owning all the project documentation
  • Getting timely procurement of plant and materials
  • Developing and fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers


This role offers diversity and challenge, based at our McLeans Island office. While the majority of your time will be spent on-site, administrative responsibilities remain an essential part of the role, requiring regular office presence help plan and manage back-end tasks effectively

With experience in the civil contracting field you will be well charged to develop and maintain strong team and client relationships, liaise with the public and prepare progress and claim reports. You will have a quality and safety ethos and perform audits and checks to ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality, and environmental policies. We’d also value:

  • 2-3 years of civil experience
  • Tertiary civil engineering qualification
  • Strong work ethic and good initiative
  • A good health and safety related track record
  • A current, full driver's license is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality
  • A self-starter, highly motivated and goal oriented
