Mō te tūnga | About the role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join He Aranga Ake, New Zealand’s violent extremism disengagement framework. He Aranga Ake is a multi-agency framework designed to support the disengagement of people who may pose a violent extremist threat to our communities due to identifying with an ideology or other violent extremist belief system.



As the Multi-Agency Support Advisor you will work closely with the He Aranga Ake Operations Manager and Principle Advisor – Psychologist, to support the operational delivery of the framework. You will provide administrative support to the He Aranga Ake National Coordination Group and be the key facilitator to information sharing across the agencies.



This key role will contribute to the development of individualised holistic intervention plans through the analysis of psychosocial indicators. You will collate, analyse, and present assessment documentation for framework participants and support operational staff with case coordination.



Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintain accurate and timely records in the Case Management System (CMS).
  • Facilitate information sharing across agencies
  • Prepare reports, profiles, and assessments to identify protective/risk factors
  • Support case coordinators at a regional level to assist with plan implementation
  • Undertake administrative functions to support delivery including setting agendas and taking minutes.

  • Demonstrated case management or case coordination experience.
  • Excellent report writing skills and advanced Microsoft office experience.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret multiple information sources
  • Experience conducting administrative functions (including setting agendas and minute taking)



Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements

A Social work qualification recognised by the New Zealand Social Worker Registration Board with a full practicing certificate or registered health practitioner is desirable (but not essential)
This role is based in the Wellington area.

This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is “to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business”.

To be eligible for this role, you must obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET national security clearance.
The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:

  • NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:
  • A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
  • A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $95,057 and $124,771 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
