Blenheim Police are looking for a motivated, and dynamic problem solver to fill a full time Station Support Officer role based at the Blenheim Police Station.
Station Support Officers are an integral part of the police team and your role will be to provide administrative support to frontline police officers, exhibit management, data entry, the use of police computer systems and providing quality customer service at the station public counter.
The role of Station Support Officer is to provide customer service for our Front Counter based at the Blenheim Police Station. Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, empathy and in a positive manner.
You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood and handled appropriately.
The role has a massive effect on public trust and confidence in police and requires someone with excellent customer focus, be part of a high performing team, attention to detail with a can-do attitude.
The role of a Station Support Officer provides operational and administrational support to Police which includes but is not limited to, front counter customer service, data entry, use of Police systems, typing, and file management. There is also scope to relieve in other roles within the Area.
Key Accountabilities:
- Dealing with challenging circumstances in a customer services environment
- Managing challenging situations involving members of the public in a professional, respectful, and empathetic manner.
- Recording of complaints from members of the public, answering general inquiries and performing reception duties such managing contractor / visitor access.
- Managing exhibit, drug and found property stores, assembling Court files for initial hearings, ordering of supplies, managing courier deliveries, and acting as a general font of knowledge.
- Working collegially as part of a team that report to a Customer Services Manager.

- A sound knowledge of computer applications, in particular NIA and Microsoft suites

- Professionalism - Taking pride in representing Police and making a difference in the communities we serve.
