Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
The role focuses on providing quality domestic underwriting solutions through referral underwriting for IAG Managed Agency business. It involves managing complex underwriting referrals, developing and implementing training for Agency underwriting teams, and offering guidance on specialized underwriting solutions. Building effective relationships with key Agency stakeholders and collaborating with agency governance specialists to ensure strong risk outcomes are also crucial aspects. The role aims to deliver underwriting referrals within agreed service levels and align with IAG NZ's underwriting guidelines and strategy.
This is a permanent full-time role and while the preferred location is Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), you have the flexibility to be based anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have the following:
- Proven experience in an underwriting role
- Experience and commitment to providing superior customer service
- High communication and negotiation skills
- Strong collaboration skills
- Ability to work to agreed service levels
- Solid knowledge of underwriting principles, pricing, product wordings and coverage
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and within a small team
