The Opportunity | Te kōwhiringa

The Connect Hamilton is a collaborative working agreement between Hamilton City Council and Downer, responsible for the planning and delivery of the majority of transportation-related physical works activities in Hamilton (maintenance and renewal). Connect Hamilton has a high performance approach, thrives on continual improvement and has a real willingness to try new things and challenge status quo.

We have great opportunity for an experienced foreperson to lead the Maintenance Crew. The team will be looking at you to lead them day-to-day to carrying out toolbox meetings, develop crew brief plans and developing a ‘one team’ approach. Your duties will involve guiding and directing the small team, operating some machinery as well as doing what’s necessary to deliver all Health, Safety, and Quality requirements.

Important Skills | Nga pūkenga matua

You will bring with you experience leading a crew along with your industry experience.

  • Experience supervising teams
  • Minimum Class 2 full New Zealand Driver’s licence
  • High standard of workmanship and quality focus
  • Excellent communication skills – with the ability to communicate with stakeholders.
  • A keen eye for safety to ensure everybody goes home at the end of each day.
  • The ability to build a cohesive team working together and for each other.
