About the Role
An opportunity has become available for a Project Manager in Tauranga NZ for Downer’s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting to the Area Manager. The Project Manager will manage assigned electricity projects to specification, within budget and within agreed timeframe. The successful candidate will envision themselves attending to duties such as:
Monitor and report on project expenditure and revenues to pro-actively control profitable outcomes
Foster and maintain a collaborative, high-performing and client-oriented culture of continuous improvement and effectively lead a large workforce to support delivery of strategic objectives
Conduct quality audits of work to ensure compliance with contract documents, design & construction standards, legislation, regulations and network operation standards
Ensure appropriate Project Management Methodology (PMM) and quality assurance systems are in place
Ensuring effective risk and opportunity identification, assessment and review processes are implemented and maintained, and the currency of the risks, opportunities and treatment plans in the Project Risk and Opportunity Register are maintained
Submit progress/payment claims on time, pursue certification and payment and ensure the project financial position is understood and reported accurately
About You
An accomplished Project Management ideally with an electrical distribution background – preferred
Experience within power lines, substations – essential
Exposure and experience with project planning, execution and delivery
Strong leadership
Able to travel and attend sites as and when required
Sound negotiation skills in dealing with customers and employees, with ability to influence
Open to a 6 month Fixed Term position
