The Far North District Council's Animal Management team is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Administration Officer. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of animals and residents alike. You'll manage compliance records, assist with regulatory processes, and support our team in delivering top-notch animal management services.
Te Wero – The Challenge
This fixed-term position will provide coverage for staff on parental leave for a duration of approximately 12 months.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Animal Management team This includes receiving and processing documentation related to various compliance requirements.
Additionally, this role involves offering general administrative support the wider Compliance group including Environmental Health Services team and the Monitoring team. A key focus of this position is to promote and ensure excellence in customer service delivery.

We are seeking a candidate with:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Advanced computer literacy and ability to learn new systems (Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
Minimum two years of customer service experience
Minimum two years of office administration experience
Local Government experience (preferred)
Current First Aid certification (preferred)
Valid Driver’s Licence
Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and cooperation
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Enthusiasm and commitment to customer service excellence
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to relate to diverse individuals internally and externally
Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for the community
Progressive mindset focused on continual improvement
Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

The salary for this position is Grade 10 within Council's salary structure (Band: $58,459 to $65,684 pro rata per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
