Position Overview
Join our team as a Research Ethics Advisor at Massey University!
Are you an enthusiastic, customer service-driven individual? We are looking for someone just like you to join our Research Ethics team at Massey University as a Research Ethics Advisor.

About the Role: This full-time position is based on our beautiful Manawatū campus. As a Research Ethics Advisor, you will provide essential support, advice, and education to researchers submitting human ethics applications. You will work closely with the Chairs of the Human Ethics Committees and collaborate with the Palmerston North-based team to ensure the smooth operation of the committees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer education, support, and advice to researchers.
  • Process ethics applications efficiently.
  • Administer committee tasks, including preparing agendas and minutes.
  • Liaise with researchers to communicate committee decisions and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records for annual reporting.
  • Develop and manage systems for human ethics research.


What We Are Looking For:

  • A strong client-focused approach.
  • Proven experience in committee administration.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or previous experience in research ethics is a plus, but not essential.

This full time ongoing (37.5 hrs per week) role is located on our Palmerston North Campus. Appointment will be reflective of skills and experience and will align with Grade 5 ($56,622 - $80,006).
