We have a fantastic six month fixed term contract opportunity for a BI Specialist. This is a global position and, reporting to the BI Leader, will support the assessment and cultivation of long-term strategic goals for BI, data, and analytics development in conjunction with end users, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Please note this is a fixed term contract opportunity from May 2025 to December 2025.
Key Accountabilities also include:
User Community
- Support research and make recommendations on BI, data, and insights products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
- Act as evangelist for BI, data, and analytic benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant departments
- Develop and implement Zespri’s BI Training Program; provide technical support as necessary
- Administer the user community portal & SharePoint site
- Help develop and support reporting standards
Delivery of Business Insight & Analytics
- Support, direct, organize, and lead projects in the implementation and use of new BI data, insights software tools and systems
- Develop reports, report definitions, graphs and portal interfaces
- Work with business and development teams to design and document dashboards, alerts, and reports
- Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions
- Owner of "business approved" standard reports
- Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for BI front-end applications
Support and Service
Resolve day-to-day issues and exceptions that occur with BI Scheduled Processes (eg. systems failing to deliver data, badly formatted data)
Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications

With three years of BI background and data warehouse analysis & design experience, you will meet the following selection criteria:
- Comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
- Experience with tier-one applications, databases, and data warehouses, such as MS SQL Server, Crystal, SAP, SCM, and so on.
- Expertise in Business Objects tools, such as Scheduler, Designer, Data Integrator, and BO Universe design.
- Expertise in Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability with data design tools.
- Strong ability to analyze user requirements and build front-end BI applications according to specifications.
- Knowledge of scripting language.
- Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
- Experience with database design applications and data processing flowcharting techniques.
- Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
