Te wero – The Challenge

We are looking for an additional Development Engineer to ensure compliance with Councils Engineering Standards & Guidelines on development applications. This role provides the best of both office and field work with assessing applications and ensuring assets to vest are constructed in accordance with approved plans.

This position reports to the Manager - Infrastructure Engineering Team and is based primarily in our Kaikohe office.

I ā koe - About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • 3+ years NZ experience in engineering, planning, infrastructure or similar fields.
  • A civil engineering, planning qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a development engineering in either a public or private sector.
  • Experience or a willingness to undertake training.
  • Great oral and written communication skills, be it with colleagues, clients or contractors.
  • Ability to work closely and proactively with a wide range of stakeholders including the public and
  • internal staff
  • Demonstrated ability in project management including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with set timeframes.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in customer service.
  • High level of relationship development, management, and customer facilitation skills.
  • A desire to get the best outcomes for our community.
