Job Description

The Far North District Council is seeking a dedicated Executive Assistant to support our Group Manager - Strategic Relationships. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, contributing to the strategic direction and success of our community-focused initiatives.

Te Wero – The Challenge

As the Executive Assistant, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring seamless communication, efficient administration, and effective coordination of key projects. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and provide high-level administrative support will be essential in helping us achieve our goals.

Principal tasks:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Group Manager, including complex diary management, host management, internal and external communications, and coordinating any required external services and arrangements.
  • Oversee Group Manager meetings and workshops, handling communications, planning, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with others in the Strategic Relationships Group to coordinate information on behalf of the Group Manager.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Strategic Relationships Management team.
  • This role offers the chance to engage in a variety of activities, working not only within the Strategic Relationships Group but also with other Groups across the council.


You will be part of a great team providing executive-level support to management and operations. Enjoy a supportive team environment with the flexibility to work across Kerikeri, Kaikohe, and from home, depending on requirements.
