Job Description
Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. This Contract involves the proactive management and delivery of facilities services to a national portfolio including 15 prisons, 100 courts and 157 community correctional sites.

In this role, you will provide administrative services to support the contract by having great attention to detail. This role will suit a dynamic person who has a real interest in supporting the business and making things happen! This role will be based at one of our Corrections & Justice site in Christchurch.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Champion Zero Harm and prioritize safety in all operations.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of administrative functions within set timelines.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with customers, promoting positive interactions.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in processes and services.
  • Lead services and personnel in alignment with Downer Values.
  • Achieve advanced user proficiency in Downer systems and offer support to site personnel as needed.
  • Manage workloads effectively to meet business requirements and month-end processes.

  • Over five years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating maturity and initiative.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills, committed to delivering quality customer service as a team player.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a KPI-driven environment, with experience in accurate data entry and administrative support tasks such as processing purchase orders and invoice approvals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, with good verbal and written communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
