This is a 6-month fixed term opportunity for a skilled Principal Risk Advisor to champion best-practice risk management within a public entity based in Wellington.

This role is an exciting chance to support the implementation of a risk management strategy and framework, and to drive the upskilling of managers and staff in effective risk practices. You will be an effective and experienced business partner who can simplify risk and provide guidance to junior staff.

As the Principal Risk Advisor, you’ll collaborate closely with the Head of Risk and Assurance to refine and execute the risk management strategy. • Lead risk-related training sessions to enhance organisational capabilities
  • Collaborate with managers to stay informed of emerging risks
  • Maintain an overview to identify key business risks

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in risk management, business, or a related field
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing risk strategies
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and deliver training
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
