This active funds manager is experiencing significant growth. Due to continued success and an increasing level of funds under management, they are now looking to appoint a Head of Client Relations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of Investment Funds and client focused KiwiSaver strategy, capability and activity to deliver agreed targets aligned to the companies goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute new channel growth strategies, particularly focusing on third-party and adviser relationships to expand distribution.
  • Drive cross-sell opportunities across different product propositions, including wealth management, investment funds, and KiwiSaver, to increase the share of wallet for clients and maximise revenue potential.
  • Contribute to the creation of third-party opportunities to deliver more activity across their products.
  • Accountability for activity pertaining to the retention of existing clients and members of Investment Funds and KiwiSaver.
  • Create and build out client experience to deliver and oversee great outcomes.
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to direct reports by fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports to enhance their skills, knowledge, and professional growth to ensure KPIs and associated conduct achieves alignment between team and client outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate risks associated with client interactions, complaints handling, and data privacy.
  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to address regulatory issues promptly and effectively.
  • Lead technology-related projects to enhance client outcomes and internal efficiencies through CRM and AI solutions.


About You:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of managing client relationships or client services teams within Funds Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop innovative client engagement strategies that drive business growth and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Experience in managing adviser relationships, with a focus on expanding external partnerships and improving the adviser experience.
  • Exhibit a track record of achieving measurable results in client retention, revenue growth, and market expansion through effective relationship management and business development initiatives.
  • Adaptability in evolving market conditions, client needs, and industry trends, demonstrating flexibility and agility in adjusting strategies and approaches as necessary.
  • Lead and motivate a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on achieving organisational goals.
  • Managerial courage with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, senior management, and cross-functional teams, to drive alignment and support for client-centric initiatives.
  • Innovative Problem-Solver by applying creative problem-solving skills to address complex client challenges, identify opportunities for process improvements, and implement innovative solutions that drive efficiency and enhance client experience.
  • Posses a solid understanding of risk management principles and practices, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with client relationships and business operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders, leveraging strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust, convey complex ideas clearly, and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
