Our quality and reliable products, efficient manufacturing processes along with our unparalleled service and support are what sets us apart.

The role

Reporting to the Production Shift Team Lead, this role will see you responsible for the processes involved in the manufacture of GIB® plasterboard. Daily responsibilities will range across:

  • Routine checks of plant operations and controlling semi-automated equipment via computers
  • Process control, monitoring the chemical and physical aspects of board production
  • Replenishing additive lines and operating machines as required to ensure continuous production
  • Quality assurance duties and actively reporting issues or faults
  • Technical problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple production demands simultaneously.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable mechanical and / or technical skills, and an interest in computer-controlled equipment. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as an aptitude for numerical calculations. Forklift experience will help provide a great start to the role. Motivated applicants who have mechanical or process engineering qualifications / experience would also be highly regarded. In addition to this, you will be:

  • Physically fit with the ability to safely carry out manual handling tasks as required
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously within a team
  • Able to prioritise, meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • A commitment to safe work practices and a belief that all injuries are preventable.

The successful candidate will work on an alternating shift pattern between morning and night shifts. The pattern after your initial training period is 2 day shifts (7 am – 7 pm), then 2 night shifts (7 pm – 7 am), followed by 4 days off. The role also includes:

  • Great employee benefits including staff discounts on a wide range of services, a supportive employee assistance programme and regular health monitoring
  • Competitive salary and a safety-focused workplace culture
  • Performance driven rewards
  • A supportive team environment in a long-standing, stable company.
