The Customer Enquiries Assistant is a fast-paced frontline role, where you will be assisting Inland Revenue in providing the best possible service experience for our diverse range of customers, addressing queries and supporting customers predominately via our web correspondence contact channels in our Individuals segment. This is a part time opportunity to work remotely in New Zealand.

As a Customer Enquiries Assistant in Customer and Compliance Services, our goal is to give our customers the best possible experience and to ensure we are delivering the right advice and information at the right time. We're looking for talented people that are passionate about the service they provide.

  • Our Customer Enquiries Assistant roles are busy and each day you will play a critical role in assisting in delivering timely, accurate and professional service to predominantly individual customers and their tax agents.
  • Previous customer service is beneficial for this role. This role also works remotely, so you must have a high level of digital literacy as all the training will be delivered virtually.
  • You will connect with customers via a range of channels predominantly email and outbound calls.

  • This is a part time position where you must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, to a maximum of 35 hours per week.
  • Your usual hours may be negotiated between 7.30am and 8.30pm. Monday to Friday.
  • However, you must also be available to work 8.30am – 3pm for your first two days of induction.


For the training period from Day 3 you must be able work 30 hours a week for an initial period of approximately eight weeks, from 8.30am – 3pm

As you’ll work remotely, you must meet the following Internet requirements to ensure you can comfortably work from home with our technology. You will need
Fibre based Broadband Internet at home
Use home WIFI in 5GHz or 2GHz
The salary for this position is $59,476 per annum (pro rated depending on your roster), and the start date for the role will be 7 July 2025
