Job Description
Downer is an industry leader in water, providing water services to a quarter of New Zealanders. We support our customers across the full asset lifecycle from the conceptual development of a project through design, construction, commissioning and whole-of-life support and optimisation.
Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional Document Controller to provide strong support and be responsible for
ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and integrity of all project or contract-related documents and records. This role will involve close collaboration with the Project and Operational teams, suppliers, clients and other stakeholders.
About you:
The Document Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the project by providing various support functions, including document control, database management, preparing claims, report writing, and some project administration. All tasks must be performed to a consistently high standard of service and following company policies and business systems
To succeed in this role, you need to be a proven achiever with excellent oral and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, and strong time management abilities.
It is essential to have experience with document system such as Aconex or Ineight and advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
You should be willing to engage in various tasks, show initiative, and remain flexible in your work approach while effectively building relationships at all levels. In addition, your key responsibilities will be:
- Assist in the setup and use of the project's document control system.
- Maintain quality and accurate document control of, Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, Environmental, Compliance, Staff Training and Competency and Customer Service records;
- Ensure timely distribution and filing of contractual correspondence, e.g. NTC’s, NTE’s, Construction drawings and specifications.
- Prepare project reports in conjunction with Project Manager, including collection of inputs for weekly and monthly reporting (internal and external).
- Assist to run project audits (internal & external)
