We have a fantastic opening for an individual to become part of our dynamic Finance team. The position of Management Accountant will involve providing precise and timely financial data to managers and staff at Far North District Council, ensuring financial control is upheld to facilitate the execution of Council operations.

Your responsibilities will include generating accurate financial forecasts, backed with documented and substantiated information for annual plans, including the LTP, for the Financial Planning teams as part of the Annual Plan/LTP process. You’ll be part of a supportive team where each day brings new challenges and opportunities. I ā koe - About You

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant business degree (at least an Accounting Technician membership of NZICA) and a minimum of 3 years of financial experience is crucial.
  • Proficiency and understanding of information systems to ensure the successful delivery of high-level services in an environment that relies on this.
  • An adept communicator who can identify and apply the most suitable and effective communication techniques across a diverse group of individuals with varying levels of financial comprehension, such as Project Managers, Budget Managers, and Elected Members, both internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High-quality report writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaboration and cooperation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
