Mō te tūnga | About the role
You will be working with high performing staff from across the Waitemata District and will be responsible for looking after our people and ensuring that they are safe and enabled. As a Supervisor of Forensic Services, you will be coordinating and managing the staffing and resources required for day-to-day crime scene examinations in the North and East Areas of Waitemata while supporting any requests from your colleague in the West Area of Waitemata.
You will be building and maintaining working relationships with internal and external work groups and agencies. You and your team will be striving for excellent service delivery and continuous improvement while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage a team to deliver on Our Business.
- Mentor and train staff in crime scene examination.
- Plan, co-ordinate and deploy resources to demand.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in crime scene examination covering a wide variety of offences.
- Knowledge of and experience in exhibit handling, packaging, and processing.
- Familiar with Fingerprint / Scene of Crime Office laboratory procedures and crime scene safety.

- Qualified within the Crime Scene Examiner's Career Structure as a Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO) or hold an equivalent and relevant tertiary qualification as they will be required to train and mentor their team and provide subject matter expertise.
- The successful applicant must be skilled and experienced in Crime Scene Examination as a Scene of Crime Officer or other relevant crime scene examination experience, including serious crime scene examination.

- Current CPK at the rank of the vacancy you are applying for (Constabulary only).

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,808 and $106,864 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
