We have an exciting secondment opportunity until January 2026 (parental leave) for a proactive and dynamic senior administrative professional to join our thriving Financial Markets team as a Personal Assistant, supporting our General Manager, Markets - based in Wellington.
This is a Hay 14, fulltime role where you will be required to be in the office every day.
What does a day in the life of a Personal Assistant in Markets look like?
- Providing effective administrative support (email, travel and diary management) for the General Manager, including timely delivery of briefing materials for events and meetings.
- Dealing with all requests to the General Manager in a professional and effective manner with strict confidentiality, handling enquiries directly or delegating them to an appropriate person.
- Responsible for event management, taking ownership of events sponsored or hosted by the General Manager (e.g. Markets wide events and externally hosted customer functions).
- Supporting and assisting the wider members of the Markets Leadership Team as and when required.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?
Success in this role will be defined by the way you implement and deliver a smooth operating rhythm where you can filter distractions and prioritise commitments and demands to free up the General Manager to be able to work more effectively and efficiently.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
We are looking for someone who is highly organised and shows initiative, with a natural ability to anticipate and mitigate any issues that may arise that could disturb the effectiveness of the General Manager.
With previous experience supporting at a senior level, you will be an excellent communicator, with a high degree of business acumen, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently manage competing stakeholder requirements.
