Position: Analytics Engineer / Senior Analytics Engineer
Team: Marketing Data & Analytics
Location: Wynyard Quarter, Auckland
Duration: 1 July 2025 - 31 August 2026

The Marketing Analytics Engineering (internally called CCC Engineering) team is part of our automated direct customer communications programme, designed to create timely, relevant, and personal customer interactions that deliver great outcomes for our customers and for ASB. Our team brings together cross-functional expertise to design, build, and deliver automated omnichannel customer conversations through agile ways of working across ASB tribes.

We are seeking a talented individual to join our CCC Engineering team on a fixed-term basis to cover parental leave. The role title and responsibilities will be based on the successful candidate's skills and experience, ranging from Analytics Engineer to Senior Analytics Engineer. This role is in our analytics engineering space, which helps enable our automated customer marketing data capability and supports our marketing analysts in targeting customers effectively.

While this role is within the CCC Engineering team, it reports into the Data Engineering chapter. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Data & Analytics team to design, develop, and implement data solutions that support automated customer communications.
  • Maintain and enhance existing data pipelines and workflows to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in sprint reviews and planning sessions to ensure timely delivery of features and improvements.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for data-related issues and ensure timely resolution.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong skills in SQL, SQL Server, and Wherescape RED.
  • Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Unica, and/or Control-M is preferred but not essential.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in data engineering, data modelling, analytics engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders and team members.
