He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

Join our team as a Shift Supervisor. You will be responsible for supervising daily operations and the performance of catering team members, ensuring all tasks associated with food production, front and back of house services, and general support are performed with due regard for Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean and tidy kitchen areas, including sweeping, mopping floors, and handling waste.
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate staff, modeling high standards of performance and behavior.
  • Apply basic communication skills, receiving and relaying information, and following routine instructions.
  • Assist with preparing and presenting food, adhering to the site food safety plan.
  • Lead, manage, and develop the team to ensure high-level end-to-end productivity, maximizing efficiencies and performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, developing clear succession plans along with training plans to ensure multi-skilling.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and communicate clearly across all levels of the business.
  • Ensure effective maintenance plans are in place for relevant machinery and equipment.
  • Lead disciplinary investigations.
  • Build a desirable and positive team culture through behaviors and initiatives.

  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a catering environment.
  • Flexible approach and attitude, with good communication skills.
  • Hardworking, physically fit, and reliable.
  • Able to pass police clearance.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proven ability to anticipate customer needs and achieve or exceed customer satisfaction standards.
  • Financial acumen with a thorough understanding of operating a kitchen within budgetary constraints.
  • Moderate level of computer literacy with Office 365 and e-procurement systems.
  • In-depth understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment principles.
  • Strong multi-site operational experience in a similar role within the industry.
  • Advanced commercial acumen with the ability to manage multiple budgets.
  • Proven experience in managing successful teams within a geographic spread.
  • Ability to form productive relationships with clients and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
