As a member of ASB's Fraud Operations team you will play a critical role in helping protect ASB and it's customers from the impact of fraud and scams. You will contribute in a meaningful way to the protection of Aotearoa New Zealand through collaboration with internal stakeholders and industry partners supporting the delivery of key strategic initiatives.

As a Senior Manager you will lead an expert team, manage multiple and competing stakeholder relationships, balance long and short-term deliveries, organise resources across shifting priorities, while consistently role-modelling constructive and highly accountable senior leadership.

  • You will be committed to delivering unbeatable customer outcomes, be able to build credibility with your team and demonstrate your ability to learn and lead in a change environment
  • Drive continuous improvement within the business to ensure efficient change.
  • Ensure service levels and standards including accuracy and productivity are maintained through continued training of staff.
  • Document and present statistical results to non-technical business audiences.
  • Apply thought leadership to enhanced data analytics, including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
  • With a continuous improvement mindset, monitor performance of and recommend changes to fraud monitoring, balancing efficiency with customer experience and risk appetite.
  • Consistently benchmark Fraud and scam rule sets against local and international industry data, liaising and leveraging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in relevant internal and external forums relating to fraud and scam intelligence and analysis.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, motivating and developing teams
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, feel comfortable questioning and providing constructive challenge, and are able to articulate risk as it relates to fraud.
  • Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across a diverse range of stakeholder groups and functional lines
  • Proven leadership with a focus on delivering outcomes
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data analytics within an AML/CFT, Fraud, Credit Risk Management or Finance area
  • Exposure to the rigors and requirements of working in a regulated industry
  • Tertiary qualification in Financial or Statistical Analysis preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and confidence presenting to groups
  • Ability to summarise and articulate complex data and analysis in a concise manner
  • Experience in SQL/Python query building and execution
