Job Description

The Accordant Group has grown to become New Zealand’s largest recruitment company and the only staffing provider listed on the NZX.

Accordant comprises of five trading entities; Absolute IT, AWF, Hobson Leavy, JacksonStone & Partners and Madison Recruitment; with capability spanning all aspects of executive, commercial and industrial recruitment services including permanent, temporary and contractor assignments. In addition, The Work Collective is Accordant’s social impact initiative, which helps people facing barriers to employment find meaningful work.

Our focus continues to be on growing the strong footprint of each entity in their respective sectors, while also developing opportunities for a combined, complementary service offering to key clients and prospects with diverse recruitment requirements.

Previously AWF Madison, Accordant Group’s new name came into effect on October 19, 2020.

The role of Group Accountant is newly created and has been designed to work closely with and support our fantastic CFO.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Group Consolidation & Reporting: Manage and consolidate the overall results for the Group
  • Treasury Management: Handle day-to-day treasury functions, including funding and cash flow projections for the Group
  • Statutory Accounts Coordination: Lead the production of statutory accounts for the Group working closely with the external CA Firm
  • Systems Expertise: Act as the Navision Administrator/Super User, ensuring seamless system operations. There will be a project to implement a new system in the next 12-18 months and this person will be central to leading that
  • Audit Leadership: Drive the audit process for the Group, ensuring compliance and efficiency
  • Tax Compliance: Oversee tax filings and journal postings across the Group in collaboration with external advisors
  • Lease Administration: Manage the Group’s lease portfolio
  • Corporate Cost Administration: Oversee corporate cost administration across the Group

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in financial consolidation, reporting, and compliance
  • Strong treasury and cash flow management skills
  • Expertise in financial systems (experience with Navision is a plus)
  • Familiarity with statutory accounting, auditing, and tax processes

These areas above are the core of the role and we need someone who is confident in these areas.

The role ideally will suit someone who has done their accounting training in a Chartered Accounting Firm of note (ideally audit as you will be managing this process) and has their CA (or equivalent).

Experience in a commercial accounting role is essential – ideally in a group environment.

The CFO has created this role to work alongside them and will provide plenty of leadership, mentorship and opportunities for development. The wider group has a nationwide footprint and there is always plenty going on.

Due to the fact that this role works so closely with the CFO; there is a preference for someone to be in the office 5 days per week.
