About the role
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Café Supervisor with strong commercial acumen to lead our café team in our stunning Retirement village - Fairway Gardens in Golflands, East Auckland. We are looking for a 'star', who will deliver excellent service to the public and the Village residents, driving sales through the cafe, and guiding a small, efficient team.
Reporting to the Village Manager, this is a front of house role where you will be on the floor delivering a warm and inviting experience for our village residents and their guests. Ideally you will have your Duty Manager / Bar licence also.
This role is work 35 hours per week across a variety of shifts including some evenings, Monday to Saturday.
There may also be the opportunity to pick up additional hours if there is an event on.
You will also be responsible for:
- Rostering
- Stock ordering
- Staff management
- Setting and reviewing café processes
- Ensuring the café adheres to food safety guidelines.
About you
As Café Supervisor, you will utilise your team building and leadership skills to train, develop and inspire the team, fostering a great culture and environment where residents will be proud to bring their guests.
- Commercial and financial acumen as you will be responsible for the Café profit & loss with a focus on growing revenues
- Hold a current Duty Manager / Bar Licence
- Food and beverage services preferably in a supervisory/management role
- Exceptional barista skills and able to deliver outstanding customer service and be able to effortlessly juggle several tasks at once with a smile
- A Hygiene & Food Handling Certificate will be advantageous as well as commercial kitchen experience
- Preferably hold a current Manager's Certificate under the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act and have good Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages.
