Job Description:
Are you a passionate Head Chef looking for a permanent role in a thriving café? Community institution and great laid-back vibe is all part of this thriving Café. You will be a dedicated professional to lead the kitchen, working as a team to deliver great food , maintain food safety standards, and ensure efficient operations all just 15 mins drive from centre of Hamilton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior cooks, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Plan and execute high-quality, seasonal menus.
  • Manage stock levels, ordering supplies, and reducing food waste.
  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain cost control while delivering top-quality dishes.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a similar environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
  • Current food and hygiene certificate ( NZQA 167 or 168)
  • Creativity in menu development and food presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
